Even the most frequent flyer faces uncertainty when navigating international travel requirements. And if you haven’t booked an international trip in a while, finding the information you need about entry visas and vaccinations can feel overwhelming.

At TripIt, we’re taking the guesswork out of pre-trip requirements with our newest feature: TripIt Pro Travel Guidance.

With Travel Guidance, you’ll be able to view the latest visa and vaccination requirements for the destinations you’re visiting to help you prepare for your upcoming international trip.

What is TripIt Pro Travel Guidance?

To help you stay up to date on ever-changing international travel regulations, we’ve added destination-specific Travel Guidance to TripIt Pro

Once you book a trip, you’ll be able to easily see your destination’s current requirements for visas, documentation, health insurance, and vaccination, plus whether the country is open for travel—all in one place.

Travel Guidance also factors in your nationality, passport information, origin, and travel dates. For instance, visa information could vary based on your passport and the duration of your visit. Visa information may also include details on different types of visas, such as a business or tourist visa, and links to applications or forms. This information comes from our partner Riskline.

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with TripIt, empowering travelers with the critical information they need to travel with confidence," said Suzanne Sangiovese, Director of Travel and Technology at Riskline. "By providing up-to-date travel guidelines and restrictions directly within the TripIt app, we’re not only saving travelers valuable time but also reducing the stress that comes with navigating today’s complex travel landscape. Our goal is to ensure travelers feel prepared for every step of their journey, making smarter, safer travel choices with ease."

Where do I find Travel Guidance in the TripIt app?

To locate the new feature, go to an itinerary for an international trip in the TripIt app. For iOS, tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner to open the menu and select Travel Guidance. For Android, tap the guidebook icon above the button with the plus sign.

If you are visiting only one country during the trip, you will go right to the country guidance screen.  From there, you’ll get details on whether the country is open, applicable visa and documentation requirements, health information, and International Travel Tools.

If your trip involves multiple countries, you will see tiles representing each country. Tap a country for detailed guidance.

"Providing travelers access to real-time information on travel requirements and guidelines can help ensure a safe and seamless journey,” said Jen Moyse, Vice President of Product at TripIt. “With significant regulatory changes on the horizon, such as the EU’s introduction of the Entry/Exit System (EES) and European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) in 2025, it’s more important than ever for travelers to stay informed. TripIt and our partners are dedicated to delivering the up-to-date information and guidance travelers need to navigate these changes confidently, stay relaxed and stress-free, and make the most of each and every trip."

Note: Information about visa, documentation, vaccination, and insurance requirements is available for upcoming travel only. It is not provided for past dates or trips.
