Wasted time at the airport really adds up, especially for frequent travelers. If the security line is short, you could end up with a lot of extra down time. If there’s a long line, you could risk missing a flight. Starting today, TripIt Pro users have access to security wait times within the TripIt app.
By adding security wait times into TripIt Pro, TripIt now gives you everything you need to plan your next trip to the airport and quickly navigate your way around once you arrive.
You will not only be able to see when you should leave for the airport, but also how long it’s going to take to get through security once you arrive, and how to get to your gate—all without leaving the TripIt app. This is one more way TripIt Pro helps you get to—and through—the airport as quickly as possible.
How does it work?
TripIt Pro now monitors security checkpoint lines and lets you know how long the wait is for the checkpoints near your gate.
To help you plan ahead, TripIt Pro will also send you an alert three hours before your flight showing you the current wait times, so you know what to expect when you arrive. You can then check the TripIt app for real-time updates.
If you need to find the nearest checkpoint, or how to get to the shortest security line, you can use the feature’s in-app
airport map. That map will also show you which amenities are located near each checkpoint, like restrooms, restaurants and shops.
Security wait times are available in select airports, starting with Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Denver International Airport (DEN), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and Indianapolis International Airport (IND).
