It happens to the best of us: you’re deep in travel-planning mode, researching international flights, accommodations, restaurants, and activities. But even after you’ve booked your carefully laid plans and created an itinerary in TripIt, you can’t shake the nagging feeling you’ve forgotten something. That something is your passport—and by the time you remember to check the expiration date, it’s too late to renew it before your trip.
We’re making sure this never happens to TripIt travelers again.
Introducing: TripIt Pro Passport Renewal Reminder. With this feature, you’ll receive timely notifications that your passport expiration date is approaching, so you can start the renewal process well ahead of your next international trip.
What is the Passport Renewal Reminder feature?
TripIt Pro Passport Renewal Reminder will notify you when your passport is nearing expiration. That way, your documents will always be up to date, giving you peace of mind.
You can expect:
- Reminders that your passport is expiring to help you avoid the stress and cost of scrambling to renew your passport at the last minute.
- Automatic alerts so you don’t need to manually track your passport’s expiration date, saving you time and effort.
- An easy way to manage multiple passports and expiration dates for family members or travel companions.
Tip: Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry. Passport Renewal Reminder will help you comply with these requirements—with plenty of time to renew.
How do I set it up?
In the TripIt app, tap the Account tab, and visit Travel Documents. Tap the plus (+) button to add a passport (or multiple passports). Be sure to add the date of expiration.
TripIt Pro will then send you reminders to renew your passport 12 months prior to its expiration. At that time, you can expect an email reminder and an in-app alert. You can change your email notification settings at any time.
Once your passport is renewed, remember to update TripIt with the new information and expiration date.
