Every year we are inspired by the generosity of TripIt users—and our 2018 airline miles donation drive was no different. This past holiday season we raised 2,709,873 airline miles for Make-A-Wish®! This was TripIt’s sixth year partnering with Make-A-Wish® to bring our frequent travelers together with the foundation’s mission to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Make-A-Wish® provides inspiration to children and teens who are battling life-threatening illnesses by granting their wishes—wishes that bring hope and light in a time of need. Over 75 percent of all wish trips involve travel—that means over 2.5 billion airline miles and 50,000 round-trip tickets are needed to fulfill this mission.
Cumulatively, our generous users have raised over 12 million airline miles in the past six years. Bravo!
Here are some additional facts about this year’s drive:
- 2.7 million miles will fund approximately 54 round-trip domestic flights
- The largest single donation was 105,121 airline miles
- $1,495 was raised in monetary donations
- The state with the most donations was California, followed by Colorado
